Why I go to Church

Why I Go To Church When I was a child I went to church because that’s what you were supposed to do on Sunday mornings. It was part of my religion. When I was a teenager, my Mom gave me a choice, so I stopped going for a short while…it seemed rebellious, which seemed cool at the time. When my life became hard, I went back to church, hoping God would see my action and make my life better. When I surrendered my life to Jesus, I went to church to understand this new relationship.

You can just watch it online, you can pay your tithe online, you can even get other stuff done around the house while listening to the sermon or singing along with the songs.

Here’s why I go to church:

-I LOVE singing and worshipping with others. I love to feel the presence of God as we all lift our voices in praise.

-I LOVE hugging my friends and encouraging them through their struggles and having them encourage me as well,

-I LOVE the opportunity to use my gifts to teach others, serve others and make a difference.

-I LOVE being challenged by the message each Sunday, having the opportunity to pray with others.

-I go to church as an offering of my time to Jesus… and I love to take the time each week to celebrate that love, to further that love, and to share that love with my brothers and sisters.

Church is community, and community is so important. We all need to be part of something. Church is an exchange of life’s best gifts: faith, hope and love. It’s an opportunity to grow, to be better, and to be used by God.

I Corinthians 12 tells us that we each have something unique to bring to the table. Your church needs you to be complete!

“Whenever two or three of you come together in my name, I am there with you.” . Matt 18:20 “Some people have given up the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.” Hebrews 10:25
